Rabies virus is usually acquired when your pet dog is bitten by a wild animal which carries the virus. Another way to acquire such virus is when another rabid dog bites your pet dog. For this reason, it is important for rabies symptoms in dogs to be detected early so they can be isolated and prevent further damage. These symptoms include foaming at the mouth, loss of appetite and intermittent fever especially during the first stage, changes in the dog’s behavior, and lethargy. The second stage symptoms include irregular muscle movements, seizures, aggressive behavior towards objects and other creatures, disorientation and lack of recognition.
